Mr. Ghulam Suhrwardi is a distinguished maritime veteran whose career spans more than five decades of service and thought leadership in the maritime community. He began his journey at the Bangladesh Marine Academy, graduating in 1969, and spent two years at sea before advancing his education at the State University of New York (SUNY) Maritime College in Fort Schuyler, New York.

With over five decades of experience, Mr. Ghulam has not only navigated the world’s oceans but also helped shape the future of maritime education, making impactful contributions to both his alma mater in Chattogram and New York. His dedication to advancing knowledge and dialogue extends beyond the maritime sector—he is the author of several books and the publisher of South Asia Journal, a respected platform for in-depth analysis and discourse on South Asian affairs.
